Verification test
Before go to mass production, it's important to process multiple validations not only for outside appearance but also for inside structure. As an ID role, I need to collaborate with engineers and suppliers to define issues and the direction of improvement to control the delivery performance and lead times.
Design fine-tuning
By verification test, we also found the neck part was a challenge to have enough hinge strength as it leaves a channel for cable routing from panel to system.
Properly increased the neck width to fulfill structure needs, but still keeping the design language.

What CMF issues did we face during production ?

Brand logo
The clarity of stamped brand logo could not meet client's requirements.
Firstly, pushed the limitation of stamping radius to make the edge sharper. Secondly, adjusted the ratio of gold powders in the ink to use a denser printing screen. Lastly, controlled the accuracy of printing position.

Qi charging icon
The sharpness of printed icon was affected by surface texture.
Verified several printing screen types to control the ink flow. And in order to get a flatter printing area before printing, applied a thin coat of black on the top of texture to improve the surface roughness.

Sub-brand deco
The anodized gold of deco did not color match well with other painted gold parts.
Since the painted gold has been signed off, we could not change it although painting is easier to control. So, we keep fine-tuning the deviation of anodized color by 3x3 samples until to meet the standard range.
