How We Work

OBJECTIVE /

Approach & Goal

UnaSensors is a series of IoT smart buttons. For the next-gen development, here are 2 goals by aligning with Sales & Marketing:

• New form factor based on new requirements

Offering an aesthetic housing which can be applicable to new specs that differ from the past.

• Modularization and customization

Providing custom appearance service according to brand identity through modular design.

DEFINE THE REQUIREMENT /

Targeting

We compiled the relevant pain points based on some feedback from Sales on our existing product to sort out the factors and concerns (orange color). And to understand their needs and wants.

WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE /

New spec of the button

Then for the hardware side, we should sort out what we expect from our new button. And started building form factors based on these key product features:

DESIGN /

Clarify and express new ideas

  • Developing product architecture

To generate a proper housing, I have developed several shapes for discussion. According to Product Manager, the new product is not expected to be much larger than the existing one. That is why we chose C-2 to meet the goal as closely as possible.

Regarding the lighting, I have made some prototypes to experience the real size and position to avoid being blocked by finger. I found the circular style has the highest visibility. But considering the cost of market position in terms of sales, we chose the classic style C-2-d as our design feature in the end.

  • Delivering design details
