Follow Up Work

READY TO PRODUCE /

Proofing of design concept

  • Form building

Carried out the design concept by building 3D file and a printed model to review the form factor and the related surface quality.

  • Bracket prototyping

To fit kinds of kegs, we have experimented different dimensions of brackets through iterative prototyping from rough paper models to precise stampings

  • Testing

Checking the actual installation status after fully assembled for further iterations. Then started to validate relevant impact resistance and waterproof tests.

  • Color plan

I listed some discreet colors that match the keg and ensured that lighting must pass through the casing clearly.

  • Design lockdown

Our client accepted our color plan and chose the darkest one to meet their expectation. Also had a positive attitude to our lighting effects.

Reflection

Beer keg rental service is a business I had never thought of before this project. Honestly, it is really hard to satisfy all scenarios such as the kegs with different liters or setting up in a limited space. Thanks to a good collaboration with engineers, we have had positive evaluations from our client.

“Overall design appears robust and strong enough to withstand the rigours of the keg lifecycle including attempted removal by hand”

“The bracket design is ideal as it uses the crease of the top dome and underside of the chime to anchor”

“This design do not require welding equipment and avoids multiple production processes”

“The casing is actually much smaller than what I was expecting”
